Discovering King Arthur

Was Arthur a real person or just a myth? The course includes an introduction to the Arthurian legends and how they originated. We will discuss the validity of the historical documents that mention Arthur and how the Roman and Saxon invasions of Britain resulted in the emergence of a British leader that temporarily at least gave heart to the British resistance.  The course will discuss the places and names associated with Arthur. The Arthurian mystery will culminate with the presenter's view of the historical character on whom the Arthurian legend might be based.
