Description:
We will read, discuss and compare three classics of the golden age of American detective fiction: The House Without a Key, by Earl Derr Biggers (the first Charlie Chan mystery), The Maltese Falcon, by Dashiell Hammett (the first Sam Spade mystery) and Too Many Cooks, by Rex Stout (a Nero Wolfe mystery). We will also be viewing screen adaptations featuring each of these fictional detectives.
