Coastal Issues
Instructor: Steve Perrin
Location: Abbe Museum
Course Meets: Mondays, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Course Size: 5-15 Students
Starts: January 19
Ends: February 16
Description: This course alternates between a variety of PowerPoint presentations and class discussions.
The goal is to establish a background for roundtable discussions of coastal watershed development, sea level rise, fishing and over-fishing, pollution, and other coastal issues. Beyond that, there will be discussions giving participants an opportunity to air and develop their views.
Throughout, attention will be paid to the mutual interaction between coastal watersheds and marine ecosystems. If the weather is suitable, a field trip will be arranged to view one or more coastal issues firsthand.
