Description:
Take a “quick” trip through geologic time – starting c. 4.6 billion years ago. This course will start with techniques that geologists use to interpret the geologic record. It will then systematically advance from the beginnings of earth c. 4.6 billion years ago to the present, tracing the tectonics and biologic evolution of the earth.
Instructor: Ruth Braun earned a BS in Geology from State University College at Fredonia, NY; an MS in geochemistry from Johns Hopkins University; and a BA in math and earth science from Bloomsburg University. She taught science and math in junior and senior high school. She taught Physical and Historical Geology at Bloomsburg University.
