Description:
Reversing the second law of thermodynamics, life began billions of years ago, and produced through evolution millions of plants and animals. Most amazing of these animals (we think) is the multitalented Homo sapiens. This course will review Homo's exuberant abilities to reproduce, to invade, to exploit, to invent fiction, myths, to be religious and ethical, or criminal. Which talent will save our species? Excerpts of the Bible reflecting common anxieties caused by our talents will be discussed.
