What Would Lincoln Do?: Lincoln’s Shadow

Ends: October 19, 2010

Description:

This course will examine our views of Lincoln and compare the issues he faced in his lifetime and in his Presidency with the issues we face today.  Those issues will include slavery then and now; the meaning of the Presidential Oath then and now; the role of democracy (or “popular sovereignty”) then and now; the role of a wartime President then and now; and Lincoln’s search and discovery of America’s Holy Grail.
