Description: This course is an illustrated survey of the heroic legends of Scandinavia through reading the original stories in English translation. We will concentrate on Volund (Wayland the Smith), the 2 Helgis, the Sigurd cycle, and the tales of King Hrolf and his champions. Part I is not a prerequisite for this course.
