The World's Oldest and Best Game for Two: Backgammon

Description: Backgammon is the world’s oldest board game, dating to Ur of the Chaldees. It is a great pastime for two players shut in by snow, rain…or a simple addiction to the game. Early sessions will introduce the game to beginners. By the end, players will have the conceptual tools to make expert decisions. Intermediate players may also expect to improve their games. The course consists of text and exercise assignments, demonstrations, games and critiques in class, and a final tourney. Most of this will be carried out 'hands-on' over a backgammon board.
