John Bryan
John M Bryan (PhD Boston University 1972) has published in England and France as well as the United States. His books include Maine Cottages: Fred L. Savage and the Architecture of Mount Desert (Princeton Architectural Press), Biltmore Estate: The Most Distinguished Private Place (Rizzoli), Robert Mills: America's First Architect (Princeton Architectural Press), Duke University: An Architectural Tour (Princeton Architectural Press) and others. He taught art and architectural history for 34 years at the University of South Carolina. Professor Bryan and his wife Martha summered on Swan’s island for half a century. They are now residents of the Birch Bay Retirement Village
