Join us for a field trip to the Colby College Museum of Art followed by a visit to the Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine in Augusta. Call 288-9500 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
We have chartered a coach bus for a relaxing ride to the Colby College Museum of Art where Julia Gray will meet us for a tour of the "Wíwənikan…the beauty we carry" exhibition of contemporary art of the First Nations people of what is now Maine and Maritime Canada. Julia, an independent consultant, served as Project Manager for the exhibit, is currently the Transition Director at the Abbe Museum, and was previously Director of Collections & Research at the Abbe.
Next we will head to the Holocaust and Human Rights Center in Augusta where we will have lunch, a sandwich and salad buffet provided by the Center. After lunch Shenna Bellows will provide an introduction and tour of the main exhibits. Following the tour, choose between an 80-minute film weaving the stories of Holocaust survivors who came to Maine after WWII with the history of the Holocaust, or one of several workshops.
The bus will meet us at the Gateway Center in Trenton at 7:30 a.m. on December 6th and we will return to MDI in the late afternoon.
Cost for the trip is $50 per person which includes bus transportation and lunch. Admission to both museums is free.
Call 288-9500 or email email@example.com to sign up.
