Carolyn Butera
Carolyn Butera works as an artist on the Blue Hill Peninsula, following vocations in education, banking, and business. Trained as a botanical artist through the American Society of Botanical Artists, she is also a member of the American Society of Marine Artists. Carolyn is producing a collection of highly detailed, watercolor “portrait paintings” of Blue Mussel Mytilus edulis shells from Downeast Maine. She has been invited to share this collection of her work in a solo exhibition next February 2026 in The Britton Gallery of the Blue Hill Library.
