Charles Stanhope
Charles Stanhope is a librarian who retired after a 35-year career with the United States Library of Congress, beginning in acquisitions work, advancing through administrative capacities in research and reference departments, and concluding as an Assistant Chief Operating Officer directing the Library’s Congressional, development, legal, public relations, and events offices. He began library work as a high school student shelving books in the Portland, Maine, Public Library. Library dust and library paste are parts of Charles’s DNA.
