Phil Grimley
Phil Grimley is Professor Emeritus of Pathology and Molecular Cell Biology at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD He has have previously taught classes on topics of virus diseases, cell biology, immunology and cancer for adult learners at the John Hopkins Osher Program in Maryland and at the ASC. This course proposal is motivated by recent interactions with a group of Maine senior college faculty and climate change academics. My aim is to illuminate the inter-dependent response mechanisms of diverse living systems to a rapidly changing global environment. This will be represented in a series of stories which exemplify a fascinating variety of fundamental biologic adaptations to ensure fitness and survival.
